Good morning, my skincare friends!
Today is a milestone. After 16 years of skincare practice, and with the help of my amazing team at The Graphic Works, we have updated our logo, opened a blogspace, and launched a new website to share with you our proprietary method for growing your best, most beautiful skin. I am grateful to Kelly Hoffman-Davis, Laura and Ronan for creating our first logo nearly 17 years ago and serving as the best business support team a girl could ever have.
In 2003, after leaving the corporate world, I was highly motivated to understand this organ, our skin. I didn’t arrive at a career in skincare through the Beauty Door, but rather through the Back Door, which meant owning my troubled skin and figuring how to repair it. Along this path, there were many synchronicities and miracles large and small, and many teachers that shaped thinking and created our unique approach to caring for skin. For every step of this journey, I am extremely grateful, but especially for the people who trusted me to help them with their skin.
Over the years, as our method developed, I have made some observations about these precious people, my skincare family -- my clients. Here are traits that many of them share: they are very considerate, curious, accountable, and have a deep respect for themselves and others. Most of them are avid learners and want to do the best they can within their means to improve their skin. It is an honor and a privilege to work with each of you, as you inspire me every day.
Today is also a milestone because we are at an unprecedented place in our lifetimes, where none of us have been before. We use words to refer to our selves and our livelihoods like “essential” and “non-essential.” As we take this pause to shelter-in-place (who had heard of that word before 2020?) we become more in touch with deep, personal feelings, we redefine our values, learn new hygiene habits and set new priorities. We begin to see that through this experience that there is no longer such a thing as “normal.”
In the midst of uncertainty, I remain certain in my passion for skincare -- where there’s a will, there’s a way. While we may not be able to safely work in a treatment room at the moment, my belief in our skincare process is stronger than ever. Because our skin is the largest organ in our bodies, we know that it responds best to a consistent routine, and consistent use of carefully selected products. Our proprietary use of LED light in combination with a customized exfoliation will significantly improve the health and beauty of your skin. With the release of the new OMNI LUX Contour device, everyone can benefit from our method without leaving home.
